History and Fantasy unite every year in May at the Utah Renaissance Festival and Fantasy Faire in Marriott-Slaterville only 30 minutes from north Salt Lake City.

Here time stands still as myth and legend collide in a fanciful display of the Renaissance period interspersed with eccentric and whimsical elements of a time that never truly was.

As you step through the gates into Hawkhurst Village, Fairies float by on gossamer wings, Gypsies belly dance to the beat of a rhythmic drum, Pirates fiercely guard their treasures, Mermaids splash playfully in their own pool of water, Magicians perform amazing illusions, and in the distance you can see the Knights of Honor preparing for their jousting tournament that is to be presided over by the Royal Court and King Henry VIII. You'll also have the chance to wander through the Guild Encampment where you can visit with the Romans, The House of Tudor and Azure Rose.

Along the way you will be serenaded by roving minstrels and troubadours, and merchants of all types will entice you to view and purchase their wares: The Celts will show you their colorful tapestries and handcrafted leather bracers and bracelets, the Woodturner will have all his wooden toys on display, the Kelley Emporium will happily sell you one of their pretty fascinators or handmade leather masks, the potter will have hand glazed stoneware, and if dragons and fairies are your favorite then a stop at the Emerald Dragon will be a must on your journey. Over 100 merchants will be hawking their wares so you are sure to find something special!

Scattered throughout the grounds are many stages where you can stop and rest while listening to a story, or watching dancers, musicians, and comedic acts. Should hunger or thirst come upon you then you can find solace in the comfort of a cool drink or a plate of cheesy ribbon fries. Feeling adventurous? Then try a Turkey Leg or a Scotch Egg.

Stay a few hours or enjoy an entire day; tickets are only $12 for adults, and $6 for youth ages 6-12, 5 and under are free! Federal employees, seniors, military and adults in renaissance garb receive $2 off the ticket price! Parking is free of charge!

Proceeds from ticket sales goes to a local animal care organization, Pack'N Pounce.
